LEAVING UKRAINE

HOW CAN I LEAVE UKRAINE TO Romania?

Ukraine's airspace is currently closed! But borders to Romania are open.

Romanian embassy in Kyiv is closed.

Border points can be used to cross into Romania: Halmeu - Dyakove, Sighetu Marmaţiei - Solotvino, Siret - Porubne, Valea Vişeului - Dilove, Isaceea - Orlivka (ferry crossing).

You can also reach Romania through the Republic of Moldova through the following border points: Lipcani – Rădăuți Prut, Costești – Stânca, Sculeni, Leușeni – Albița, Cahul – Oancea, Giurgiulești – Galați.

WHICH DOCUMENTS DO I NEED?

Make sure you have your most important documents with you!.

  • identity cards - especially biometric passport if available

  • birth certificates/adoption documents/recognition of paternity/custody agreements,

  • marriage certificate/divorce decrees,

  • school-leaving certificate/vocational training certificates/university degrees,

  • Covid-19 vaccination record/recovery record, if available. Not necessary, but useful

  • language certificates, if available

If you are travelling with a child, make sure to have some sort of identity document for the child (e.g., birth certificate).

WHICH DOCUMENTS DO I NEED FOR MY PETS?

  • The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) has granted a temporary derogation from the observance of certain rules for the entry of PETS from Ukraine on the national territory. If the animal is not vaccinated against rabies or if the vaccination is no longer valid, the responsible person will fill in the Pet Location Form, the owner of the animal will be able to complete all the formalities and procedures after entering Romania.   • Free veterinary assistance is available when entering Romania. NGOs are ready to help you and your pets with food, water, blankets, pads, pet cage carrier, even accommodation.

  • Horses must be micro-chiped and have a passport to be allowed in Romania.
