HOUSING

WHERE CAN I STAY TEMPORARILY? WHERE CAN I TURN TO?

  • At all border points, volunteers from Red Cross, Red Crescent, and many other NGOs, individual people, monastries & authorities representatives welcome you, all offering support, food for refugees and their pets, hot beverages, clothing, transport to any point within the country and accommodation.   • Governmentaly organized

    • The capacities in the initial reception facilities are currently being increased. Public transport, including by train, is free for anyone fleeing the war in Ukraine.

  • Privately organized

    • There are private hotels, office buildings or individuals who offer free accommodation for the refugees. Some of them accept you with your pets. There are also animal protection NGOs who can accommodate your pets if you are not allowed with them in the accommodation centers.

  • At border points you will also find a translator who can help you communicate, and find a place to rest, free of charge. If you do not know what documents you need, or you have problems with customs, you can call the Romanian Border Police free of charge, a Ukrainian-speaking policeman will answer the phone at this number +4 0219590. Everything is provided for FREE, so don't hesitate to ask the volunteers or the authorities.
